BIOL 425 - Advanced Molecular and Cellular Physiology 4 Credits Three lecture hours. plus lab hours.
This course employs a quantitative biophysical approach of neurons and muscles as excitable cells and tissues, and of graded and action potentials, neutrotransmission, and muscle excitation-contraction coupling. Hormonal action in cell signaling pathways and modulation of biological function is also studied.
Prerequisite(s) BIOL 209 and BIOL 310 with a grade of “C” or better, MATH 114 or MATH 141 with a grade of “C” or better, or consent of course instructor or Department of Biology Chairperson. Offered (SPRING)
