FREN 403 - Classical French Literature

Three lecture hours.

This course examines the emergence and growth of the classical ideal in French literature during the seventeenth century. The works of Descartes, Pascal, Madame de Lafayette, Boileau, La Fontaine, and others are studied.

Prerequisite(s) FREN 204, or four or more years or levels of French in high school.
