HEED 419 - Health Issues and Research I


3 Credits
Three hours per week.

This course is designed to acquaint the health education student, who has completed all the core course in health education, to the foundation of health science research. Through a step-by-step approach, this course covers the process of constructing and researching public health research topics through the analysis and critique of scientific research. Course experiences provide students with the tools needed to strategically assess peer reviewed publications and skills needed to create an organized method of conceptualizing a public health research area. Students will also develop the critical thinking skills needed to research and communicate findings from public health research.

Prerequisite(s) HEED 104 , PHEC 358  (SOCI 351 ).
