HIST 354 - History of the Civil Rights Movement


3 Credits
Three hours per week.

This is a study of various movements among African Americans to gain political, social and economic equity in the United States from the abolitionist era of the antebellum years to the 1960s Black Power movement. Emphasis will be upon the common themes of the various movements, the changing strategies of the activists and the response of Americans in the mainstream.
