BIOL 425 - Advanced Molecular and Cellular Physiology 4 Credits Three lecture hours. Three lab hours.
This course employs a quantitative biophysical approach of neurons and muscles as excitable cells and tissues, and of graded and action potentials, neurotransmission, and muscle excitation-contraction coupling. Hormonal action in cell signaling pathways and modulation of biological function is also studied.
Prerequisite(s) BIOL 209 and BIOL 310 and MATH 114 or MATH 141 or consent of course instructor or Department of Biology Chairperson. Students must complete each class with a grade of C or better. Offered (FALL or SPRING)
