NURS 353 - Gerontology

Three lecture hours.

This course examines the nurse’s role in promoting, maintaining and restoring the health of aging adults. The psychological, sociological, and physiological factors that influence the health of the aging, with particular emphasis given to biological changes that have implications for disease and health disorders are presented. Community, state, and federal health programs and services for the aged are discussed.

Prerequisite(s) NURS 300 .
