Morgan State University is a “Military Friendly School” and a place that honors and welcomes the service member, their spouse, dependents and family members. Under the Office of the Registrar, the Veterans Engagement Services team facilitates the transition of all military-affiliated students and veterans, while ensuring students are reaching their academic success goals. As part of our mission and vision, we extend our efforts beyond the classroom to provide the necessary personal, developmental and community resources for a diverse and competitive 360° matriculation experience.
Student veterans and their qualified dependents will have access to the tools and support to help navigate their enrollment and maximize their Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense Educational Funding Opportunities.
Veterans Engagement Services (VES) provides assistance to all students seeking eligibility information to utilize benefits under the Veterans Educational Assistance Act From the point of admission into Morgan to determining your benefit eligibility standing, our ”What We Do” web page offers a myriad of information and links to get you started.
Some additional tools to aid you along the way are also provided to help you navigate from the completion of the necessary forms for your certification of enrollment to learning about alternative sources of funding to include scholarships, grants, and our on-campus ROTC Program.
All student veterans registered with Veterans Engagement Services are offered the opportunity to participate in Priority Registration each Fall and Spring term of any academic school year during their matriculation. We understand the necessity of student veterans and their eligible dependents to be able to have first choice selections of courses offered to help them stay on track with their curriculum sequences and graduation timelines.
Yellow Ribbon Program
Morgan State University’s Veterans Engagement Services has been a Yellow Ribbon Program participant since 2015. The ongoing participation in this program displays our understanding of the need for financial accessibility to attend school. As a result, we extend our Yellow Ribbon resources to up to a combination of 10 eligible non-resident Undergraduate and Graduate students who are post 9/11 beneficiaries. Our school contributions vary by degree level and are matched by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Veteran Services Resources
The Veterans Engagement Services team members extend our services to areas beyond the classroom by hosting a series of events and providing on-campus organizations and groups that are specifically designed to cater to the needs of our military population. For more detailed information on these resources go to our Veteran Services Resource web page.
