POSC 307 - Scope and Methods of Political Science


3 credits
3 hours per week.

This course provides students with an overview and the understanding of how to navigate and conduct scientific research in the field of Political Science. It discusses how to write an introduction to a research paper, write a literature review, and navigate the research methodological processes. Most importantly, the course will discuss how to identify a research topic, write a research title, articulate, or raise a Research Question, Problem Statement, Purpose Statement, Thesis, and Hypothesis. It will also discuss writing a research proposal and drafting a research design for a research endeavor.

Prerequisite(s) POSC 101  and POSC 201  completed with grades of “C” or higher
