SCOM 413 - Strategic Communication for Leadership and Team Development

This course provides theoretical and methodological approaches to emerging forms of leadership and team building, emphasizing the importance of communication to the successful outcomes of both. It explores the dynamics affecting one’s ability to lead and to follow and how to transform personal leadership into strategic organizational outcomes in a rapidly changing environment. Issues of authority, succession, collaboration and competition, information diversity, conflict and intercultural competence are addressed using contemporary research from communication and organizational scholars.
