In this course, a variety of analytical tools and frameworks are presented in order to help students understand issues in strategic sourcing and logistics management. Topics include: microanalysis of logistics and transportation services, multi-modal transportation stems, inter-modal transportation systems, transportation planning and analytical models, transportation costing, third party logistics, warehouse management, material handling, distribution center operations and performance management, logistics network design, vendor managed inventory, risks in global logistics, and issues related to distribution channel management.
