MIND 101 - Special Topics in Mindfulness

Mindfulness is an integrative, mind-body based practice that helps to manage thoughts, feelings and physical and mental health.  This course is designed to promote mindfulness, ethical behavior and compassionate community engagement, so that students can practice a way of living harmoniously within oneself, among peers and in the larger community.  This course is organized in a series of seminars facilitated by Morgan State University faculty and experts in the practice of mindfulness.  Students will learn the principles of practice,  develop their own practice and apply meditative and mindfulness principles and practices to their daily lives.  Students explore mindfulness by engaging in selected strategies and techniques including:  deep breathing, meditation, blogging, yoga, journaling, intentional eating, imagery and the like.
