HIST 331 - Comparative Migrations in the United States: Great Migration, Immigration, and the “American Dream”


3 credits
This course examines migrations within and to the United States from the late 19th century through the early 21st century.  The primary focus will be on the experiences of the migrants, which we will explore through historical monographs, novels, film, and interviews with migrants.  Specific topics will include: border/boundaries, identity and community formation, assimilation, the “American Dream,” and citizenship.
