FACS 415 - Family Law & Public Policy 3 credits In this course, students will learn about the impact of public policies, laws, and programs on family functioning. Students will examine the intended and unintended consequences of local, state, and federal policies on contemporary family life across contexts and cultures with special attention towards the implications for historically marginalized groups in the U.S. Students will learn about theoretical frameworks useful for conceptualizing and analyzing programs and policies as well as discover the roles professionals can play in shaping family policy.
Prerequisite(s) FACS 310 and FACS 351 and FACS 355 completed with grades of “C” or higher Offered (FALL/SPRING)
