SPAN 319 - Western Sahara, from Imazighen Origin to Current Conflict Resolution 3 credits This course is an introduction to the Western Sahara. It examines the historical, social, and cultural dimensions of the region, tracing its development from early history to contemporary times. Students will analyze the impact of the Imazighen cultural heritage, the Spanish colonial power, the struggle for self-determination, the current territorial dispute, the diaspora, and the ongoing fight for independence and conflict resolution.
Prerequisite(s) SPAN 204 completed with a grade of “C” or higher Offered (AS NEEDED)
