AAAD 250 - Study Abroad in the African Diaspora

3 credits
The interdisciplinary course will examine the experiences and history of people of African descent in a foreign country and compare them with those of African Americans and other groups. Students will examine the influence of race, resistance to racism, and capitalism in shaping their experiences and history. Students will spend two to three weeks in a foreign country; previous locations included Ghana (West Africa) and Colombia (South America). The course is an elective for AAAD and history majors and minors.
