ACSC 465 - Actuarial Mathematics I 3 credits MATH 465 is the first course out of a series of courses designed to prepare actuarial science majors to be ready for the Fundamental of Actuarial Mathematics exam. The course includes an introduction to modeling and covers important actuarial methods that are useful in modeling. It will also introduce students to the foundational principles of ratemaking and reserving for short-term coverages. The syllabus also covers the candidate’s knowledge of the theoretical basis of contingent payment models and the application of those models to insurance and other financial risks.
Prerequisite(s) MATH 331 and ACSC 346 completed with a grade of “C” or higher Offered (AS NEEDED)
