HIST 355 - Black Social Movements and the Arts

The course explores the history of creative expressions of artists of African descent in the U.S. through several mediums. The course examines how the impact and struggle against racism, the struggle for community and humanity, and the development of cultural heritage shape African American art meanings and traditions. Satisfies a History Division I course.

Prerequisite(s) Must be Sophomore status (30 earned credits) or higher
