ASLP 712 - Qualitative Research Methods I


3 Credits

This course introduces students to the field of qualitative research and prepares them in the skills, techniques, and knowledge necessary to undertake independent research using a variety of qualitative approaches (e.g., grounded theory, case study, phenomenology, critical qualitative research).  This course will cover qualitative research design focusing on; history, philosophy, theoretical frameworks, methodologies, methods, evaluation criteria, and ethics.  Lastly, the course introduces various methods of qualitative data collection and analysis to help students begin designing their own qualitative studies. 

Prerequisite(s) ASLP 600  and ASLP 620
