HIST 362 - Women in the African Diaspora

Three hours per week.

This course is a survey of the experiences of women of African descent cross-culturally, from ancient Africa to the present. Emphasis will be on similarities and differences in women’s roles and their cultural, social and political experiences. Nearly half the course deals with Africa. The remaining part will deal with the Western Hemisphere.
