BIOL 203 - Introduction to Environmental Science


4 Credits
Three lecture hours. Three lab hours.

This course emphasizes the understanding of natural environmental systems and the physical and social causes of environmental problems with special emphasis on urban contexts, and strategies to mitigate these or manage these issues.  The concepts of the relationships among the physical, chemical and biological components of the environment, and the impact upon them due to human activities will be explored in an interdisciplinary fashion from organism, ecosystem, and global perspectives.  Laboratory exercises and required field trip will be integrated into the lecture material and experimental techniques.

Prerequisite(s) BIOL 105   and BIOL 106  ,  Students must pass these classes with a grade of C or better.
