THE MAJOR IN TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS
All students pursuing the B.S. degree program in Transportation Systems (TS) are required to earn a minimum of 120 credit hours of coursework, which includes 40 credit hours in general education courses, 19 credit hours in mathematics and science, 56 credit hours in core courses, 2 credit hours in University requirements, and 3 credit hours in electives. The core courses expose the students to the major transportation concentration areas, including planning, engineering, economics, management, and logistics.
The Transportation Systems program is accredited by the Applied and Natural Science Accreditation Commission (ANSAC) of ABET, http://www.ABET.org.
THE MAJOR IN TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS ENGINEERING
All students pursuing the B.S. in Transportation Systems Engineering (TSE) are required to earn a minimum of 120 academic credit hours of course work which includes 42 credits in general education, 2 credits in University requirements, an additional 22 credits in mathematics and science, and 54 credits in core transportation requirements, including 9 credits of approved technical electives to strengthen a particular area of concentration (e.g., traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, infrastructure asset management, travel demand modeling and network planning, logistics, etc.), and 6 credits in approved general engineering courses (e.g., engineering mechanics, thermodynamics, etc.).
