Hospitality Management, B.S.

The Hospitality Management major has a strong business com- ponent. The curriculum emphasizes managerial leadership and is designed to develop/prepare students with theoretical and applied business and hospitality knowledge, skills, values and attributes. In addition to the general education and the School of Business and Management requirements, students are required to take twenty-seven hours of hospitality management courses: HOMG 101 , HOMG 219, HOMG 290 , HOMG 322, HOMG 325 , HOMG 412 , HOMG 483 , HOMG 486 , and MGMT 329 . Six credits of electives may be chosen from the following: ENTR 351 , BUAD 361 , BUAD 456 , BUAD 486 , MGMT 420 , MKTG 338 , MKTG 345 , HOMG 300 , HOMG 321 or six credits of a foreign language (each counts as 2 HOMG Electives). The 3 credit GSBM elective must be a 300-400 level course selected from outside the student’s major, but within the School of Business and Management.

Junior standing in the School of Business and Management means successful completion of 60 credits in General Education and GSBM Requirements including MATH 201 , ECON 211 , ECON 212 , ACCT 201 , ACCT 202  (or ACCT 300 ), BUAD 202 , INSS 141 , and INSS 220 .
