Students minoring in East-Asian Studies must complete the following required courses with a grade of “C” or better:

Required Courses for a Minor in East Asian Studies: 12 Credits

PHIL 363 - Asian Philosophy 3 credits
OR
RELG 311 - Eastern Religious Traditions 3 credits
POSC 410 - Seminar in East Asian Studies 3 credits
XXXX - Foreign Language 203 - Chinese or Japanese 3 credits
XXXX - Foreign Language 204 - Chinese or Japanese 3 credits

History Elective

(Choose One) 3 credits.

HIST 387 - Introduction to East Asian History 3 credits
HIST 388 - East Asia in Modern Times 3 credits

Political Science Elective

(Choose One) 3 credits.

POSC 321 - Government and Politics in Asia 3 credits
POSC 350 - Government and Politics in Modern China 3 credits
POSC 352 - Government and Politics in Japan 3 credits
POSC 354 - Government and Politics in Korea 3 credits

Total: 18

Students may need to take 101- and 102-level courses in the foreign language above to qualify for the 203 - and 204-level courses.
