Political Science Pre-Law Minor

A minor in Pre-Law in the Department of Political Science is offered to students planning to attend law school. The attorneys in the department provide guidance in preparing students to plan, strategize, LSAT preparation, scholarships and other protocols pertaining to law school. Students are exposed to law and the legal profession through internships and other opportunities.

Required courses for a Minor in Pre-Law 12 credits

Students minoring in Pre-Law must complete the following required courses with a grade of “C” or higher.

ECON 424 - Economics and Law 3 credits
PHIL 343 - Jurisprudence 3 credits
POSC 415 - American Constitutional Law 3 credits
POSC 206 - Black Politics in America 3 credits

Electives 6 credits

Students must choose two (2) of the following courses:

MGBU 381 - The Legal and Ethical Environment of Business 3 credits
MGBU 382 - Business Law 3 credits
POSC 304 - The Supreme Court and Civil Rights 3 credits
POSC 416 - Race and Public Law 3 credits
POSC 390 - Colloquium 3 credits
POSC 498 - Senior Internship 3 credits
