Program Description
The Certificate Program in Museum Studies and Historical Preservation affords access to the benefits of the Museum Studies education to current Morgan graduate students in other fields, non-degree seeking students, and working professionals in the field. A certificate is available in Museum Studies and Historical Preservation. Like the M.A. degree program, the specific aims of this graduate program within the College of Liberal Arts focuses on areas related to public history and general museum practice. Certificate in Museum Studies and Historical Preservation 18 Credits This certificate program requires students to complete eighteen (18) credit hours. Of these, six (6 )credits are devoted to core courses, and twelve (12) to elective courses. The courses required are as follows: Elective Courses 12 credits
Ideal Program Sequence (two semesters)
The certificate can be completed in two academic semesters, though a longer period can be pursued. The individual student’s desire and capacity will drive the pace of programmatic completion. The two-semester completion pace appears here: Year 1, Semester 1 (Fall)
