Physical Education, B.S.

Students must receive a grade of “C” or higher in all major core, concentration and supporting courses. In addition to completing all general education and university required courses, students majoring in physical education must complete the following major core courses: BIOL 106 , BIOL 201 , BIOL 202 , PHEC 200 , PHEC 211 , PHEC 326 , PHEC 358 , PHEC 411 , PHEC 412 , and PHEC 498 . Activity courses for majors (47 hours) and teaching and coaching (2-4 hours). Dance Education majors have an alternative teaching and coaching requirement option.

 

Requirements for the Physical Education, B.S. Degree:

A minimum of 120 credit hours are required of students pursuing the Physcial Education, B.S. degree.  These credit hours are distributed as follows:

 

General Education and University Requirements    44 credits

Major Core Requirements    32 credits

Concentration Requirements    44 credits

TOTAL:  120 credits

1: INSS 141   Required for Sports Administration Concentration, EDUC 303   is required for Elementary and Secondary Education concentration and strongly recommended for Dance Education concentration

1 This can be a combination of one 2 credit Teaching and Coaching Course or two 1 credit Teaching and Coaching courses.

Sports Administration Concentration 44 credits
