BIOI 512 - Structural Bioinformatics 3 hours. 3 Credits
The course introduces principles, methods, techniques, algorithms, databases, and strategies in structural bioinformatics. It covers protein, DNA, and RNA structure fundamentals, macromolecular structure determination techniques, data representation and databases, comparative features, structure-function assignment, protein interactions, and protein structure predictions with AI tools. This course also covers protein folding as a process and stability, protein structure prediction and modeling, principles and methods of docking, ligand design, drug target, and discovery.
Prerequisite(s) BIOI 511 and advisor permission. Offered (FALL or SPRING)
