SCOM 225 - Strategic Communication Theory and Practice


3 Credits
Three hours per week.

Application of communication theory and social science methods to the research, planning, communication, and evaluation aspects of the public relations process in business, government, associations, and other organizations will be studied.  Also addressed will be the evolution of SCOM principles and practice directed from the theoretical perspective through its influences on in-house SCOM function and agency SCOM.  Focus is on the theoretical context of different types of SCOM activity, suppllemented by intense practical assignments to encourage a ”learning-by-doing” approach. [Formerly PRAA 220].

Prerequisite(s) COMM 201 , COMM 202  and SCOM 200  with a grade of “C”or better.
