ACSC 490 - Actuarial Science Research

3 Credits
Three hours per week.

This is a capstone course taken by students during their senior year. It utilizes the case approach as a learning tool by examining a specific real-world problem whether you choose to jump directly into the workplace or first go on to graduate school. For a successful actuarial career, technical knowledge is certainly necessary, but not sufficient. Proficiency in business communication, business acumen, ability to work in a team, career advancement and innovative applications, and awareness of professional ethics and social responsibility are just as important. All of these elements are brought together in the sequence of actuarial science professional development courses which all culminate with a service project at the end of the semester.

Offered (FALL/SPRING)
