HEED 204 - Community Health Practices


3 Credits
Three hours per week.

This course is a study of personal health services in the community. As health education programs exist in a variety of settings, this course will provide an overview of real world factors that impact the process of designing, implementing and delivering health promotion programs within community settings. Attention will be given to the role of the health educator in identifying factors needed to identify and sustain health promotion programs. Special attention will be given to understanding historical occurrences, the impact of social determinants and providing culturally competent health education programs in public, private and voluntary health agencies.
