CHEM 408 - Advanced Organic Chemistry 4 Credits 3 lecture hours. 3 lab hours.
Registration in this course is limited to prospective graduates or approval of the Departmental Chairperson. This course covers the theory and application of modern spectroscopy, such as infrared, nuclear magnetic resonance, ultraviolet-visible and mass spectrometry. The laboratory includes structure identification, separations, as well as a small research project that includes a search of the literature. Prerequisite courses listed must be completed with a grade of C or better in order to take the indicated course. It is expected that all prior prerequisite courses to the ones listed have also been satisfied with a grade of C or better.
Prerequisite(s) CHEM 204 and CHEM 204L and CHEM 207 AND all prior prerequisites for these courses completed with grades of “C” or higher Offered (SPRING)
