HIST 388 - East Asia in Modern Times

3 Credits
3 hours per week.

This course will survey developments in China, Korea, and Japan before and after World War II. Both internal developments and their role in world history will be considered. Topics will include the communist revolution, Maoism, recent changes in China, and Japanese pre-war militarism and post-war economic success.
