NURS 403 - Parent-Child Nursing (Pediatrics)


4 Credits
2 lecture hours. 2 lab hours.

This course focuses on promoting, maintaining, and restoring the health of parents, infants, children and adolescents in childbearing and child rearing families. Nursing care of well children and children with acute and chronic illness will be examined within the context of the family and community. The clinical component focuses on the application of evidence-based knowledge and critical thinking skills in providing care for families during the childbearing years. Students will learn how to provide nursing care to infants and children in a variety of settings.

Prerequisite(s) NURS 300 , NURS 301 , NURS 310 , NURS 350 , and NURS 351  completed with grades of “C” or higher. NURS 305  can either be a Prerequisite completed with a grade of “C” or higher or a Corequisite.  
Co-Requisite(s) Students must also register for NURS 305  if it has not previously been completed with a grade of “C” or higher
