PHEC 286 - Form and Analysis in Dance

3 hours per week.

This intermediate/advanced level course focuses on basic elements of rhythm as it relates to dance expression. The understanding of musical notation and scoring is essential to the successful completion of the course. Knowledge of the use of percussive and other instruments is also of value. The course includes the development of compositional analysis, individual choreography and an introduction to criticism in dance.
