ODSW 703 - Clinical Practice II 3 Credits
This clinical practice course seeks to hone the advance clinical practitioners skill set in engaging with urban populations, utilizing a strengths based culturally thoughtful theoretical perspective. The advanced Practice Clinician will explore, implement and evaluate both evidence-based and experiential interventions to assist urban individuals, families and communities with challenges of mental and behavioral health concerns which adversely impact them. The advanced clinical practitioner will discover, discuss and deploy traditional and non-traditional interventions that demonstrate promise in helping individuals, families and communities to develop coping skills focused on healing, and wholeness through a communal and collaborative process. Students will employ assessment skills to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and their generalizability within and across communities.
