Information Systems, B.S.

A critical mission of the department of Information Systems is to offer high quality programs in information systems at the undergraduate and doctoral level. The department seeks to provide opportunities for students to study and apply various technical and organizational knowledge and skills. The department’s regularly updated curricula are taught by a team of highly qualified faculty that engages in research and brings corporate and government technical IT work experience to the classroom. The programs are suitable for students who are planning (1) to work in a corporate environment, (2) to operate their own business, (3) to obtain a strong background for pursuing graduate studies. The program enables the student to develop solid foundations in key technologies, methodologies, processes, and organizational skills.

 

Requirements for the B.S. Degree in Information Systems

A minimum of 120 credit hours are required to graduate with a B.S. in Information Science.  These credit hours are distributed as follows:

General Education and University Requirements    42

Business Core and Supporting Requirements    48

Information Systems Major Requirements    30

Total Credits    120

 

All Supporting, Business Core, Supporting and Major Requirements must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher.

1 Students must choose two (2) of the courses in the INSS Electives in order to satisfy this requirement.

2 GSBM Elective must be one (1) course chosen from the following:  ACCT 300-499, BUAD 300-499, ENTR 300-499, FIN 300-499, HOMG 300-499, INSS 300-499, MGMT 300-499, MKTG 300-499, SSCM 300-499
