School Requirements: In addition to meeting the requirements in General Education and in the major, students must also complete six (6) credits in the Complementary Studies required of all majors in the School of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences. Options for satisfying this requirement are outlined under the section on the School of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences. Also, to qualify for graduation, students must pass the Senior Departmental Comprehensive Examination; must have taken all of their junior-and senior-level requirements in the major at Morgan (unless granted prior written permission by the Dean to take courses elsewhere); and must have earned a cumulative average of 2.0 or better and a major average of 2.0 or better, with no outstanding grades below “C” in the major (which includes all courses required for the major and required supporting courses).

This degree option provides an opportunity for students to prepare for the study of medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and for careers in secondary education. Students who complete this major will not be certified by the department for graduate study in Chemistry.

First Year (Semester One): 15 Credits

First Year (Semester Two): 17 Credits

Second Year (Semester One): 17 Credits

Second Year (Semester Two): 18 Credits

Third Year (Semester One): 14 Credits

Third Year (Semester Two): 13 Credits

Fourth Year (Semester One): 12 Credits

Fourth Year (Semester Two): 14 Credits

Total Credits: 120

* denotes a department required supporting/major course which may fulfill a general education requirement and must be completed with a grade of “C” or higher

1 Complementary Studies Elective is two courses which may be chosen from any course in SCMNS 200-499.

2 Advised Elective is one course chosen from the following:  BIOL 200-499, CHEM 300-499, COSC 200-499, MATH 200-499, MDTC 200-499, PHYS 300-499

3 Advised CHEM Elective is one course chosen from the following:  CHEM 305 , CHEM 308 , CHEM 412 , CHEM 414  

4 Strongly recommend COSC 150
