The B.S. in Interdisciplinary health and Human Sciences appeals to potential students who are working in the healthcare industry, athletics, community services, education, and business.  this program will also appeal to students who have taken courses in math, social sciences, nutrition, health sciences, and social work.  The potential graduates of this program will have growth opportunities in their careers in the fields of education, community and social services, non-profits, healthcare, therapy, mental health, or child development.

 

Requirements for the B.S. Degree in Interdisciplinary Health and Human Sciences (IHHS)

A minimum of 120 credit hours are required to graduate. These credit hour are distributed as follows:

General Educaiton and University Requirements:     42 credits

Interdisciplinary Major Coursework:     48 credits

CISC Requirements:    30 credits

Total Credits:     120 

General Education and University Requirements 42 credits


Interdisciplinary Coursework 48 credits


Students must earn a grade of “C” or higher in major coursework

Lower Level Coursework (100-200 level) 24 credits


Lower Level Coursework (100 -200 level) must be 24 credits chosen from the following areas:

College of Liberal Arts (CLA):  ART (ART), Music (MUSC), Psychology (PSYC), Sociology and Anthropology (SOCI)

School of Community Health and Policy (SCHP):  Nutritional Science (NUSC), Public Health (PUBH), Nursing (NURS)

School of Computer, Mathematical & Natural Science (SCMNS): Biology (BIOL), Chemistry (CHEM), Mathematics (MATH), Medical Laboratory Science (MLS)

School of Eduation & Urban Studies (SEUS):  Education (EDUC), Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS), Physical Education (PHEC), Secondary Education (SCED)

School of Social Work (SSW):  Mental Health Technology (MHTC), Social Work (SOWK)

Upper Level Coursework (300-400 level) 24 credits
