Interdisciplinary Educational Studies, B.S.

The B.S. in Interdisciplinary Educational Studies appeals to potential students who are working in childcare, education administration, libraries, or as teaching assistants.  This program will also appeal to students who have taken courses in social sciences, arts, health, or education.  The potential graduates of this program will have growth opportunities in their careers in education, counseling, education administration, ESL, early childcare, or special education.

 

Requirements for the B.S. Degree in Interdisciplinary Educational Studies Degree:

A minimum of 120 credit hours are required to graduate.  These credit hours are distributed as follows:

General Education and University Requirements     42 credits

Interdisciplinary Major Coursework     48 credits

CICS Requirements     30 credits

Total Credits     120

General Education and University Requirements 42 credits


Interdisciplinary Coursework 48 credits


Students must earn a grade of “C” or higher in major coursework

Lower Level Coursework (100-200 level) 24 credits


Lower Level Coursework (100-200 level) must be 24 credits chosen from the following areas:

College of Liberal Arts (CLA):  Art (ART), English (ENGL), Music (MUSC), History (HIST), Geography (GEOG), Psychology (PSYC), Political Science (POSC), Sociology and Anthropology (SOCI), International Studies (INST), World Languages (WLIS)

School of Community Health & Policy (SCHP):  Nutritional Science (NUSC), Public Health (PUBH)

School of Education & Urban Studies (SEUS):  Education (EDUC), Family & Consumer Sciences (FACS), Physical Education (PHEC), Secondary Education (SCED), 

School of Social Work (SSW):  Mental Health Technology (MHTC),  Social Work (SOWK)

Upper Level Coursework (300-400 level) 24 credits
